Studio Kiwi Mini Makers
Welcome to our Younger Clay Community
Mini Makers is a specially designed version of the studio’s Membership for young creators, allowing them to continue exploring ceramics and developing their creativity independently in a supportive environment. These sessions are reserved for young people who already have some experience in ceramics and wish to work on their personal projects.
Mini Makers Sessions take place every Wednesday afternoon from 2:00 PM to 4:30 PM and are tailored to allow young people to create their clay pieces autonomously. There is no instructor during these sessions, but a member of our team is always present to answer their questions and support them in their project development. This team member must also manage other tasks in the studio simultaneously.
Ideal for young people with prior ceramic experience
To ensure that each participant can fully benefit from these sessions, we ask that all Mini Makers already have some experience in ceramics. If not, we strongly encourage them to take one of our introductory courses before joining the Mini Makers sessions. These courses provide the essential skills for proper use of the studio, safety, and basic ceramic techniques.

How do the "Mini Makers Sessions" work ?
The Mini Makers Sessions are 2.5-hour creative sessions where young people can reserve a worktable or a pottery wheel (depending on their experience). The goal is to provide them with a creative space where they can experiment, create, and refine their clay pieces, all while developing their own style with occasional support from a member of our team.
Learn at your own pace:
The sessions are not “classes” but periods of autonomous work. Young people will have the freedom to find their own rhythm, handle different clay consistencies, and explore various techniques while receiving feedback from a team member if needed.
In the Studio:
🔸 Each worktable or pottery wheel is equipped with a kit of fundamental tools needed for shaping, throwing, trimming, or glazing. Our shelves offer additional tools and equipment.
🔸 Five types of stoneware and porcelain are available for purchase by the kilo (recycled or directly from a Belgian quarry).
🔸 We have 12 colored slips and more than 18 glazes to choose from.
🔸 Firing fees are calculated based on the volume of each piece before bisque firing. A team member will be present to calculate these fees for the young people, simplifying the process (at a preferential rate for pieces created during the Mini Makers Sessions).
🔸 We ask all Mini Makers to follow our safety guidelines to ensure they can continue working with ceramics in a safe and serene environment.
Team:
A member of our team is always present to guide, answer questions, and ensure the smooth running of the studio. However, they must also handle other tasks in the studio during the sessions.
All team members are bilingual (French-English or French-Dutch), and some are multilingual, also speaking Romanian, Persian, Spanish, and Portuguese, to offer a personalized welcome.
Storage :
As we are a small studio, storage needs to be well-managed. We provide personal storage space for Mini Makers during their membership, but not for those who book a single Mini Makers session. Personal storage boxes must be emptied and cleaned at the end of the membership.
Membership Pass :
For better value and to enjoy regular ceramic practice, we recommend purchasing a membership for the Mini Makers Sessions, which corresponds to the same memberships as our adult members. These memberships allow flexible access to the studio throughout the year.
Booking :
Young people wishing to join the Mini Makers Sessions must have completed one of our introductory courses or demonstrate prior experience in ceramics.
Booking a Single Mini Makers Session :
It is also possible to book a single session for Mini Makers who just need to glaze their final pieces or finish a project. This is not intended for occasional or sporadic use, as there are at least 3 different stages in the ceramic process, each requiring specific attention and storage space.
