Service Description

🌕🌖🌗🌘🌑🌒🌓🌔 Moon jars are a traditional ceramic vessel from Korea, usually made by joining two hemispherical halves. Their generous, spherical form, and often milky glaze evokes a stunning, glowing full-moon. Ceramicist and teacher Emilie will guide and accompany you through the different steps of realising your own moon jar on the potter's wheel, inspired by this traditional shape, playing with "perfect imperfections" ! **Important : This course is suitable for hands who have already learnt how to center clay on a potter's wheel and make simple bowl shapes The course will be given in English. Emilie also speaks Dutch and understands French. PROGRAM : The course is programmed over two evenings set a week appart : 1) Introduction and demonstrations. Learn how to throw pairs of symmetrical bowls on the potter's wheel. 2) Learn how to combine the two hemispheres on the potter's wheel, create seamless joints and sculpt the foot and neck of your jar. FINISHED WORK : You shall each aim to create a moon jar. The size will depend on your experience on the wheel, and your desire for challenges ! SMALL GROUP : The course welcomes maximum 5 students. You shall be a cosy gang of 10 hands, great to learn from each other. PRICE : * The cost of the course covers all materials and firings. You shall be using a fine, grey, stone-ware clay that fire's light beige. * The course does not include the glazing of your moon jar. You may sign-up to our monthly "glazing intro class" under the 'Sign-up' menu to glaze it in our studio with assistance. If you have already been initiated to glazing in our studio, you may glaze it autonomously during member sessions (see 'Kiwi Members' on our website). CONDITIONS : * Please ensure you can attend all 2 dates of the course as it is a 2 week process and unfortunately a missed class will not be refunded or rescheduled. * We need a minimum of 4 participants for the course to take place. If we do not reach this number you shall be notified and proposed a refund or rescheduling. * If you are not able to complete your work to the detail you would like during the course hours, you can continue working on your pieces during member sessions on our website. This is not included in the pack of this course. *Please read our cancelation policy below.

If for medical reasons or any other reason you are unable to attend your booked course/workshop/member session, you can be refunded, or reprogram to a future date, or find a remplacement according to the time delays below : FOR ALL INTRO COURSES / LEVEL 2 COURSES / PRIVATE WORKSHOPS / KIDS : ** Booking refundable/reprogrammable if informed more than 2 weeks in advance of start date (minus 5% booking fee if refunded) ** Booking refunded/reprogrammable by 50% if informed less than 2 weeks in advance of start date, unless a replacement is found by you or us (minus 5% booking fee if refunded 50%) ** Booking not refundable/reprogrammable less than 1 week before the start date unless a replacement is found by you FOR MEMBER SESSIONS : **Bookings can be cancelled or modified on your online account minimum 2 days in advance **Less than 2 days before, you shall be accounted for your booking unless you find a replacement with another member on our community Facebook group "Mud Gang". FOR FIRING DROP-OFF OR PICK-UP BOOKINGS : Please inform us by email as soon as possible if you can no longer attend your chosen rendez-vous slot so we can allows others to book
